Marvelousness on Blast!

Hey y’all! My favorite season has arrived! Summer has begun and here at Marvelous University, we have some amazing things happening and I felt it was only right to fill you in 🙂

Last week, I had the honor of being a guest on the Mocha MoB show on DFWiRadio, hosted by the Queen Mommy of Boys, Cheryl Rischer.  Mocha MoB is every Monday, 11a-12p CST on dfwiradio.com. We had such a good time!

As we were leaving the studio, Cheryl asked if I was interested in having her time slot during the summer, since she would be on vacation. How could I refuse!? Especially since being on the radio has been a dream of mine for YEARS! I actually have a Post-It on my prayer mirror to remind me to keep praying for it. So, when Cheryl asked if I wanted this time to connect an audience in a different way, I jumped at the chance!

There were two major things I was excited about during this show. One, I had a very special guest with me, Kaia! She’s the marvelous girl who wrote the review on Love Your Jiggle: The Girl’s Guide To Being Marvelous a few weeks ago. Kaia was my in studio teen expert 🙂 

I was also excited because I kept visualizing the Post-It note on my prayer mirror with the word “radio.” At one point, while waiting for the show to begin, I sat in the studio and just inhaled and exhaled deeply.  I thought about a time years ago, while driving down a street in Palo Alto,  and listening to the Oprah station on Sirus XM, I said out loud, “I want to have a show on the radio.”

Now, I know I am just sitting in but, while I’m sitting in, I am going to do the time with all the marvelousness I can muster! I will put girls on a sweet blast this summer and have great folks sitting with me to make sure I do just that. I hope you’ll join me in this new space and please spread the word. 

Our next episode is Monday, June 19, the Monday after Father’s Day and also Juneteenth. We will have two dads as guests to talk about raising daughters in this culture that seems to have a love/hate relationship with Black girls. You don’t want to miss it!
